In portable computing Netbooks are a hot news and every company is propagating about netbook. Some may say the EEE PC introduced the netbook. But it was XO laptop which was introduced a couple of years ago.In the developing countries XO laptop was developed for children by The One Laptop per Child foundation. The netbook is built to endure any type of weather, has Wi-Fi capabilities, no moving parts inside, a webcam and it is powered by simply pulling a string. The OLPC went on a sale promotion of Give 1 Get 1, on last holiday season. And to day Nicholas Negroponte has confirmed the program is back at the end of the year through Amazon.
According to the Boston Globe, the XO laptop will be sold through Amazon to avoid delivery problems the organization encountered last year, and it is being reported the OLPC foundation is working on a Windows XP version. According to Negraponte, Amazon has not either confirmed ir announced regarding promotion until the site is ready.
The price not confirmed. The details are awaited but it is likely the two for one deal will set you back for $399 again.
