Wi-fi Sneakers

If you are still thinking if wearable Wi-Fi detectors are really necessary, read ahead what the designer Stefan Dukaczewski had on his mind. A hotspot detecting sneaker. Based on the Nike Dunk platform, an ASRD or ‘A Step in the Right Direction’, was re-engineered that can detect wireless signals within an area of 50 meters. The outside flap has three LED’s that connect to an actuak Wi-Fi detecting unit.

Once the pressure sensitive insoles are activated the LED’s will blink until it detect a signal and light up all the way to show the signal strength. Though this seems a bit out of the way for the older ones to wear blinking LED’s but it going to attract the younger ones who need to get online. The designer created a working prototype for Ubiq boutique, and said it was a one time deal, so they arent been expected to be in stores anytime soon, keeping finger’s crossed to see them.
