It’s not a phone at all, it’s purely an internet Tablet - there are no built-in, hardware phone features. You have Skype, Gizmo, or GoogleTalk for internet voice and video comms.
As a highly portable internet access devices, however, it does a great job.

It is neither a cell phone nor a smart phone, since there is no phone. If you say you can use Skype makes it a phone, then that makes my desktop computer a phone, which it is most definitely not. The Nokia N810 is a small computer, with a Linux based OS. It has built-in speakers and a build in microphone, but you wouldn’t hold it to your head to use Skype because the speakers are loud speakers. You can call it a PDA, but not a phone.

U RETARDS! HOW IS IT A PHONE…. IT’S NOT A CELL PHONE OR A SMART PHONE! THIS IS SIMPLY A MINI COMPUTER (INTERNET TABLET). HOW WOULD YOU USE THIS AS A PHONE! JOEY IS RIGHT… YOU WOULDN’T HOLD IT TO YOUR HEAD! SECOND, CORRECT ME IF I’M WRONG BUT DON’T YOU NEED AN INTERNET CONNECTION FOR SKYPE OR GIZMO TO WORK? AND DOESN’T THE NOKIA N810 NEED TO HAVE A WIRELESS INTERNET SIGNAL TO WORK? SO DOESN’T THIS MEAN THAT WHENEVER YOU WANT TO USE GIZMO OR SKYPE, YOU NEED TO BE IN AN AREA WITH A WIRELESS INTERNET SIGNAL? AND NOT ALL AREAS YOU’LL BE IN WILL HAVE WIRELESS INTERNET SIGNAL. SO YEAH YOU CAN USE SKYPE OR GIZMO TO MAKE A CALL, BUT YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO BE IN AN AREA WITH WIRELESS INTERNET SIGNAL AND I HIGHLY DOUBT THAT EVERYWHERE YOU WILL BE THERE WILL BE A WIRELESS INTERNET SIGNAL.
