No Cheaper PlayStation 3

There are a lot of rumors going round that the Sony PlayStation 3 will get an important price cut in the near future. While it would be great to get the not so popular PS3 at a cheaper price, it does seem that the rumors are not true, at least when talking to Sony about them. Recently, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe told GamesIndustry that all the speculation is simply not true.
There will not be a $600 PlayStation 3 model sold in the United Kingdom. On the other hand, the company did hint as to price cuts in the recent past so we might expect to see a cheaper PlayStation 3 model in the UK. Only time will tell but the hard truth of the problem is that Sony really needs such a price cut to sell more units.
